Yesterday, while updating windows 10, windows update threw the following warn:
“We couldn’t connect to the update service. We’ll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesn’t work, make sure that you’re connected to the Internet.”
Googling and searching at reddit, it turns out that it could be that Orange ‘s DNS can’t connect to Microsoft’s Update servers at all.
There was a DNS issue with the windows update domains. So I changed DNS server to Google (22.214.171.124, 126.96.36.199) and then tried Cloudflare DNS (188.8.131.52 y 184.108.40.206) and did the job.
¿How to do that? Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl and ok. This opens the network connections window, right-click on the network interface in use (Ethernet o Wifi), select properties, double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) from the list to get its properties window and select radio button Use the following DNS server addresses and type the above mentioned DNS IPs, check validate setings upon exit, and for me error solved.
